CIPR ‘Excellence’ award for delivering long term impact
Our success in achieving tangible outcomes that deliver long term impact has been recognised at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) ‘Excellence’ Awards, where we scooped the top prize for the UK’s ‘Best Long Term Campaign’.
The CIPR Excellence Awards are widely regarded as the PR industry’s leading awards as they are the only national awards able to give a ‘chartered seal of approval’ to PR campaigns.
We won the award for our work with Tinnitus UK over a three year period, in which we put the under-recognised condition on the Government agenda.
The Tinnitus Manifesto called for more funding for research to find cures, generating 140,000 petition signatures and leading to the Government setting up a working group to discuss research funding. More recently, we made the prospect of a Tinnitus Biobank real by attracting 3,500 people to sign up to share their data in one week and engaging a number of leading research funders.
The activity gave the charity a national platform, with our most recent campaign generating more than 170 media placements - including a flagship spot on BBC Breakfast, and 1 in 5 people who viewed our educational animation signed up to be part of the biobank. You can see the case study here.
We also got a ‘Mark of Excellence’ for delivering these significant outcomes on a competitive budget.
Leigh Greenwood, Founder and Managing Director at Evergreen PR, says: “We are lucky to have already won a lot of awards for our work delivering tangible outcomes for health organisations but this one really is a bit special.
“The CIPR Excellence Awards recognise the very best communications campaigns in the UK. To have won this award for the impact we have been able to deliver over a sustained period, is really rewarding. Tinnitus UK do amazing work and have been a great partner to us.
“Working together with clients for the longer-term allows us to take them on a journey and, in many cases, achieve more than they may have thought possible.”
