We’ve been shortlisted at the PRCA DARE Awards
We’re delighted to announce that our campaign to increase the level of funding for tinnitus research, developed with our client the British Tinnitus Association, has been shortlisted for a PRCA DARE Award.
The Tinnitus Manifesto, launched in February 2020, was a wonderfully successful strategic PR and Public Affairs campaign, incorporating an event at the House of Commons, research of 1,600 people with tinnitus and a manifesto for future funding, developed together with politicians, academics, patient support groups and people with tinnitus.
As an agency, we are firmly of the opinion that communications should be measured in terms of outcomes i.e. what it achieves. And this campaign achieved a lot.
The Tinnitus Manifesto generated 110,000 petition signatures, caused a debate in the House of Lords, enjoyed blanket media coverage (including The Times, ITV News, Daily Mail and Daily Mirror among others) and led to the Secretary of State for Health, Matt Hancock, committing to review the levels of funding for tinnitus research. You can find out even more about it here.
Tinnitus is an under-recognised condition that affects millions of people and can have a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing. Thanks to our strategic communications campaign, this cause is now firmly on the agenda of the most senior politicians and medical research funders in the UK.
We’re delighted to have had the success of our work recognised by leading communications professionals and, as specialists in health PR and communications, will continue to work hard to help our clients to achieve their important goals.
The Tinnitus Manifesto is shortlisted for ‘Best Not-for-profit campaign in the North’ at the awards from the Public Relations Consultancy Association. The winner will be announced in September 2020.
