Dream Team: Evergreen wins ‘Charity and Not for Profit’ award for breakthrough health campaign backed by MPs and ministers
Healthcare PR agency Evergreen PR has won the ‘Charity and Not for Profit’ campaign award at the Public Relations and Communication Association (PRCA) Dare Awards for its breakthrough campaign with The Sleep Charity.
‘Dreaming of Change: A Manifesto for Sleep’ aimed to put poor sleep on the Government’s health agenda by making the urgent case for a National Sleep Strategy to tackle insomnia and other sleep disorders.
To make that case, Evergreen PR worked with the charity on a data-led policy report that demonstrated the significant scale of sleep problems across the UK and their widespread impact on public health. The data was then brought to life by sharing the powerful experiences of real people affected by sleep conditions.
The breakthrough health campaign achieved substantial national coverage, including BBC Breakfast, ITV news, Channel 5 News, the Daily Mail, The Sun, and The Lancet. Additionally, it secured backing from nine cross-party MPs, and crucial ministerial support for the creation of a National Sleep Strategy.
Matt Thompson, Director at Evergreen PR, said:
“We’re thrilled to see Dreaming of Change pick up the Charity and Not for Profit Campaign award at the PRCA Dare Awards, so soon after it was awarded ‘Healthcare Campaign of the Year’ by PRmoment!”
“Poor sleep has often been trivialised, despite its significant impact on health. Our campaign with The Sleep Charity was designed to make the Government wake up to the issue. By pairing hard-hitting data with powerful human stories, we not only placed sleep health on the Government’s agenda, but successfully gained the political support needed to initiate real, national change.”
