The Sleep Charity appoints Evergreen PR to put sleep issues on the Government’s agenda
The Sleep Charity has appointed specialist healthcare PR and communications consultancy, Evergreen PR, to deliver a PR and public affairs campaign that puts sleep issues on the Government’s health agenda.
The Doncaster-based charity, which campaigns to improve sleep support and promote understanding around the complexities and value of sleep, has tasked Evergreen PR with raising awareness of the scale and impact of sleep issues in the UK and the need for much greater evidence-based support for those suffering with sleep problems.
Lisa Artis, deputy chief executive of The Sleep Charity, said:
“Evergreen PR has an impressive track record for creative campaigns that deliver real outcomes and we’re really excited to be partnering with them on this important initiative.
“Despite a growing bank of evidence demonstrating its importance, sleep has been largely overlooked when it comes to public health policy and, consequently, there’s a real lack of support and advice available for those who are experiencing issues.
“The sleep crisis we find ourselves in is having far-reaching health, social and economic implications and, working with Evergreen, we hope to spotlight the problems and the clear solutions to these with the aim of securing the support needed to tackle a rapidly escalating problem.”
Leigh Greenwood, Evergreen PR founder and managing director, said:
“Sleep issues are under-recognised, underfunded and under-supported and we’re delighted to be working with The Sleep Charity to drive urgently needed change.
“We’ll be using our MERTO Framework to identify the ‘most effective route to outcomes’, unlocking the priority audiences, messages and activities that will drive tangible impact.
“It’s a tried and tested process that we’ve followed to achieve measurable outcomes for a range of health charities, private healthcare businesses and NHS organisations and we’ve won more than 30 industry awards in our first four years in recognition of the positive impact that our campaigns have had. We’re incredibly excited to have the opportunity to do the same for The Sleep Charity as part of our mission to transform health through outcomes-driving communications.”
Since launching in 2019, Evergreen PR has built up a roster of health-focused clients that includes the Royal College of GPs, the Personalised Care Institute, Quorn, Ascenti and Meddbase.
The agency has picked up a number of national awards this year, including the UK’s Best Public Health Awareness Campaign from the PR Week Healthcare and Pharma Awards and Best Long Term Campaign at the CIPR Excellence Awards.
